Big “3” 2019 AT FlipFlop

Pack

Katabatic Onni LS 50L.  Under 2lbs, doesn’t absorb water, ventilated frame-sheet, mesh front pocket, and generous hip-belt pockets.  Have been real happy with this pack since picking it up last summer.

Shelter

Six Moon Designs Gatewood Cape + Borah Bug Bivy.  The ability to quickly hop in a shelter even under bug pressure seems reason enough to carry a bug bivy on it’s own.  Paired with a Gatewood Cape makes a 16oz shelter.  As much as I enjoy sleeping in a hammock, going to the ground on the AT for simplicity and convenience.

Sleep System

Katabatic Palisade + 6 panels Thermarest Zlite SOL + Exped UL pillow.  Not much to say.  It’s a warm quilt and CCF pads work for me.  Taking a pillow for early cold nights I might end up sleeping with my jacket on.
